Winter Wonderland Christmas Concert
On Wednesday 15th December, our Lower Academy School Choir performed Christmas songs accompanied by a live band, to students and staff in a fantastic open air Winter Wonderland Christmas Concert.
The quad area at the Lower Academy area was transformed into a Winter Wonderland with festive decorations and lights. Spectators enjoyed hot food and drink and stalls offering games and items made by our students in Enrichment time.
In the weeks leading up to the concert, members of the choir showed real dedication and commitment by practising their set of chosen Christmas songs during rehearsals.
Before the concert, our choir were given the fantastic opportunity to discover what it would be like to be a professional musician by taking part in a career based Q&A session with the band. Questions were asked about what it is like to be a professional musician, salary, travelling, working with famous people, performing in big venues and being on TV in music videos.
The Academies were very grateful for the additional funding provided thanks to The Heart of Pitsea.
A big thank you to our school choir, who gave such a wonderful performance and to all students and staff who worked hard to make the Winter Wonderland Christmas Concert such a successful and memorable event.
The event raised over £500 for charity which will be donated to Save the Children.
