Students receive the Fairtrade Foundation FairAware award

Congratulations to students of 8G5 who have recently received the Fairtrade Foundation FairAware award.

The award is part of the Fairtrade Schools initiative, designed to encourage young people to learn about global issues such as where our food comes from and how we are connected to people around the world.

In addition to their extensive research during enrichment lessons, the group of students took part in surveys to demonstrate what they had learned which also gave them the opportunity to share their opinions with the Fairtrade Foundation.

The next step for our students is to work towards achieving the FairActive award which will involve heightening the awareness of Fairtrade within our school community.

This year’s Fairtrade Fortnight runs from the Monday 21st February through to Sunday 6th March. For more information visit:https://www.fairtrade.org.uk/get-involved/current-campaigns/fairtrade-fortnight/
