UK Parliament Week
Last week, our students enthusiastically participated in UK Parliament Week, diving into the world of democracy and parliamentary processes.
The event offered a valuable opportunity to explore how decisions are made and laws are created in the UK.
As part of the activities, Year 7 students worked in groups to invent their own political parties. They created party symbols, outlined core beliefs, and developed manifestos that included new laws, ideas for improving the country, and even laws they would abolish. Each group also practised explaining why people should vote for their party.
This hands-on approach encouraged creativity, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of democracy, leaving students inspired about their role in shaping the future.
“We celebrate Parliament week because it showcases how much the United Kingdom has done over the years and how the UK government can improve.” Dara.O – Year 8
